Missions Ministry

Westbourne Missions has been very fortunate to be involved in missions’ projects in India, Budapest, Papua, Poland, Germany and Thailand as well as other places in the world for many years. During this time, we have always talked about missions in the realm of where we are working. In 2011 and beyond, we will talk about Westbourne’s missions by what we are doing. We will evaluate existing and future projects based on our theme, Go and Serve in Love. We hope and pray that you will seek to know more about how God is using our church.

Community Impact

What Is Community Impact?

This ministry focuses on providing opportunities for people to experience community within our church, and also encourages individuals to serve the Calgary area in real and practical ways.

Community Impact is all about showing the love of Christ to those around us. We do this by creating opportunities for people to experience community here at Westbourne as well as reaching out and serving our community. We offer events where people can get to know the church and our Westbourne family and feel comfortable inviting friends, neighbors, or co-workers.

Ways to Impact Our Community

• School Supply Drive: An opportunity to provide necessary school supplies to families with limited income.

• Thanksgiving Baskets: We provide Thanksgiving dinner to several local families within our church and community.

• Baby Bottles For Life: A partnership with The Pregnancy Care Centre.

• Hands and Feet: A weekend of Christian service where we come together to make a difference in our community.

• Summer Sports Camps: A Sports Outreach Ministry to boys and girls 4-10 years old.

• The Samaritans Purse: A partnership to bless children around the globe with Christmas gifts.
